Where Are We in History According to the Bible

I have been asking the Lord, “Lord, show me in the Bible where we are in history at this moment,” and He did.

Jesus showed me exactly where in the Bible we are at this very moment and the next major events that will take place in the future.

Our focus will be in the book of Daniel, in the 7th chapter which speaks of the four beasts that arise out of the earth. And specifically, “the fourth beast which was different from all the others, exceedingly dreadful, with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze, which devoured, broke in pieces, and trampled the residue with its feet.”

Here is the sequence of events and where we are in history:

1. The angel told Daniel in verse 23 that “the fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different than all other kingdoms.”


a. The “fourth beast/kingdom” came on the world stage in 1949 when NATO (the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) was formed.

2. The angel continued: “and shall devour the whole earth,”

a. Devouring the whole earth (all the nations) is globalism.

3. After the NATO beast devours all the nations of the earth through globalism, it will “trample it.”

a. These are the sanctions and other pressures such as exporting immorality (homosexuality, same sex marriage, etc.) throughout the nations of the world through trade agreements and treaties.

i. Remember the word “trample it,” we will come back to it.

4. And after the beast devours the nations of the earth through globalism, and tramples it with sanctions and the forced acceptance of immorality, then it will “break it in pieces.”

a. Globalism is over at this point. The globalist will try to keep what it has devoured but it will be unfruitful. NATO and the national alliances will splinter and form new alliances.

5. Out of these broken pieces the angel explains what will happen next in verse 24: “The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom.”

a. So out of the broken pieces of NATO and the other alliances, a realignment of nations shall take place. This is where we are in history: between globalism being over, the alliances of the nations being broken in pieces, and the forming of the new ten alliances.

i. And then after these ten national alliances are formed, “another (king/kingdom) shall arise after them; he shall be different from the first ones.” This of course is the son of perdition who we call the anti-Christ.

Remember back in step 3 I said to remember the words “trampled it?” After the Lord gave me understanding of where we are in the book of Daniel, He then took me to 2-Thessalonians 2nd chapter and tied in verse 3 with the words “trampled it.”

The subject of this chapter is the Lord’s coming, so let’s read it in verse 1: “So brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the Day of Christ had come.” Notice that the “coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him” is the same thing as the “Day of Christ” or the Day of the Lord.

Now this is where verse 3 ties into the fourth beast trampling the nations: “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day (the Day of the Lord) will not come unless the falling away comes first.”

The word “falling away” is not primarily the church losing faith in God, but literally means: open defiance, political revolt, war-like aggression against the laws of God. The NATO nations, and primarily the United States has “trampled” the nations of the world, forcing immorality on them through treaties and trade agreements. So, this is where we are in history in 2-Thessaloanians 2nd chapter, between “the falling away (the political insurrection of the laws of God being forced on nations of the world)” and “the man of sin is revealed (ruling in power), the son of perdition.”

In summary, this is where we are in history prior to the Lord’s return: Globalism had its day; the nations of the earth have been trampled on by globalism’s immorality and sanctions; NATO and other alliances of nations are currently in-fighting and breaking in pieces; Out of these nation-pieces, ten new national alliances will be formed; after the formation of these ten national alliances, they will be reduced to eight national alliances of which the “man of sin, the son of perdition” who we call the anti-Christ will come to power; Then sometime during the man of sin’s reign, the Lord will come and we will be gathered together to him. This will be the end of the old and the beginning of the new. #
