Defining a Haughty Spirit
One of the best ways to define "haughty" is to see a picture painted from the Lord's mouth. Some years after He had revealed to a particular person that they had a "haughty spirit." He said this to her:

"I would tell you, daughter, 'Rebellion, rebellion, rebellion. Obedience, obedience, obedience.' You have said in your heart, 'I will do it my way.' And yea, you have. But I say to you, 'It is much easier, much smoother, the road is much smoother if you will do it My way.' My love for you is great & yea, I would desire for you to come after Me. I would desire for you to come after Me. Oh, I am pulling & I am wooing, & you are turning your back on Me. But I say, 'Turn towards Me. Turn towards Me, My daughter. 'For yea, I love you."
Some people don't want to be rid of the fruit of haughty in their lives. Therefore, they do not relish deliverance like they should.
