Music - Spiritual Weapon!
Music to bring the Spotless Bride

Music - The weapons of our warfare are not carnal!
Music is a spiritual weapon; therefore what song we sing is to be given by the Holy Spirit to accomplish what the Lord wants at any given time. God had to teach us that it is not in the songs we like to hear and sing that we have victory, but in the spiritual anointing of what He gives us to sing at any point. This is part of walking hand in hand with Him, not pleasing our own flesh. It is for what He wants to accomplish in us, someone else, or a situation.
Many songs become battle songs for the Lord's purposes, although this is not always evident to us. God-given songs play a part in getting the victory in many critical situations. Below we find a story revealing the power of music to gain victory.
II Chronicles:
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God'. 16 Tomorrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel. 17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle : set yourselves, stand ye still , and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. 18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the Lord, worshipping the Lord. 19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the Lord God of Israel with a loud voice on high. 20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them : and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
We see that deliverance came through obedience, the music, and specific words to speak - Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. Another thing we need to see is that there were specific singers appointed to do the task. Here at Take His Heart, God has given specific positions or special assignments within the singers.
It is important to return the songs given, the words given by God, back to God. He is a jealous God! Singers play an important role in the Lord's business at His command and are a major part of His way of doing things.
Nehemiah 11:
22 The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God.
I know the singers did more than sing in the Old Testiment but it was the singing that brought major victories. We have found this to be more true than imagined here at Take His Heart. Obedience to sing what the Lord instructs brings victory when that is the way the Lord wants the victory to come!
(As a side note here, but important to see, is that when God told us to meet in the room we meet in now, He told us it was the place He wanted to conduct His business! Certainly gives a different perspective but a very important one to get a hold of.)
The songs given here at Take His Heart played a major role in bringing us out of harlotry into obedience to the Lord as a spotless bride. He is still giving us new music to convey messages to us and to get things into us permanently. Words and music are powerful and God has dealt with us, in some way, by every song He has given to us. It is all for His purpose, whether in ourselves, His church, or other world situations.
God gives music for His purposes! Let us take our proper positions as He designates, and return back to Him from our hearts and lips that what He has given to us for His purposes. It is first for Him and His purposes, then for us.
Words are powerful, when spoken in music! Let the Lord do a work in you through His given music for His Bride! There have been songs I didn't understand and didn't especially like when they were given, but they have so often become more important and likeable to me than others. I've had to say,"Thank you, Lord, for that particular song, I understand now!"
The Lord said, "Don't sing it if you don't mean it!"
